Bone Anatomy
The bone is made up of compact bone, spongy bone, and bone marrow. Compact (or cortical) bone makes up the outer layer of the bone and spongy (or trabecular) makes up the inner layer of the bone. There are two types of bone marrow, red and yellow. Red marrow contains blood stem cells and yellow marrow is composed of mostly adipose or fat.
